April 15 was our last meeting at Drake's Louisville. Next week is Derby week and we all know what that means! CHOW WAGON!
Brief Highlights -
- BHS - 66 people have responded to Todd Metcalf and he will get that info to Genie. Thanks Todd for doing this before Derby week. ANYONE with any information from classmates PLEASE get it to Genie ASAP! Even if you think it is duplicate info. EMAIL: warriorsof1982@gmail.com
- This weekend everyone will be able to go on line to register for their room at the Hyatt.
- May 18 ish direct mailing will go out to make reservations for the events for the weekend.
Itineray:
Friday Alumni night at Hyatt/Karaoke 7-11 p.m. $10 per person.
Saturday Dinner/Dance Cocktails at 5:30 Dinner at 6:00 - Dancing at 7-Midnight - $40 per person/$75 couple. (Who's my date?)
Sunday - 1:00 Golf Scramble at Sun Valley - $35 per person. Best ball, shot gun start, foursomes and carts included. Oh that sounds so whatever but you golfers know the lingo.
When the letter and reservation forms go out - we need everyone to get that money and event info back ASAP. Spread the word. Next meeting in May TBA a Friday night to get the mailing out.
Renee got us card stock, Genie getting some paper and Edlisa grabbing box of 500 envelopes.
Keep in mind we are only securing 30 tables of 10 for the Saturday night event. 300 is our number to meet for the event with the combined groups. July we will know what to tweak and still be in compliance with our contract with Hyatt.

There was a meeting April 14. Things were said, food was eaten, some remarkably brightly-colored drinks were ordered... and probably other things were done.
About 60 Butler grads have sent in contact info thus far.
Mailings will be going out soon.
The next meeting is Sunday, May 20-ish. - Further info to be determined.

Recap -
Meeting started 4:30
1. Jeff to get BHS class of 1982 alumni list this week and will share with Genie.
2. A save the date post card will be mailed around the last week of April with all three events listed and pricing.
3. Hyatt - rooms for $99 per night. Block of 20 rooms reserved. We can do more just have to let the ones we won't use by end of July. Negotiating deposit and room for Friday night "alumni meet and greet". Stay tuned.....
4. Menu was picked for Saturday evening event and discussion on decorations abounded.
5. Leila and Karen are heading up door prizes/give aways for the reunion and will work with all of us. Prizes given away for "traveled the farthest for reunion". etc.
6. We touched on the printing needs and Renee said she may have some "bootleg" stock in her basement. We will work from the free first then buy later. Use of copiers rather than printers is the way to go at this juncture.
7. DJ - after prices and discussion - Butch Chambers will be our DJ. With all the bells and whistles for Friday Karaoke and Saturday Dinner/Dance - $450.00. It was also talked about getting Butch a room at hotel for convenience and storing DJ equipment.
8. Lynne will be unable to serve in the capacity of treasurer this round. A motion was made to move Genie into that position along with Edlisa and the vote was unanimous. By end of March all 3 will meet at bank and file new signature cards.
9. Golf Scramble - Sun Valley/Iroquois still on the table. Shawnee was suggested due to local to Hyatt but not sure we can get that golf course. Sun Valley looked the most attractive for our group needs. Thanks Brian.
10. Genie reported that she needs everyone to email warriorsof1982@gmail.com and submit your information: name, address, phone and email address just to double check current information and add new. Spread the word "Warriors of 1982 @ gmail.com "
11. Tonight Pam had problems booking a room at the Hyatt Regency - It will be fixed by tomorrow March 7. Our event had not been entered in the reservations computer yet....oie vay~!
12. Next meeting - Sunday, April 15 at Drakes at the Summit 4:00 p.m. or back to Dittos.

We have a block of rooms available at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. There are only 20 rooms so the sooner you book the better chance you have of getting one of the rooms. The cost is 99.00 for single or double occupancy. It's on a first come basis, so book yours now! To book a room call 502-581-1234.
